Senior Quality Engineer
Due to growth and our desire to support our customers we require a Senior Quality Engineer.
Reporting to the Technical Director, you shall be responsible for the day to day running of the small quality team, problem solving, concern containment and resolution, support new projects, auditing, customer liaison, PPAP submission and Customer Support. Good customer facing skills shall be required.
Ideally from an automotive plastics background, however all candidates shall be considered. Currently BS EN ISO 9001:2000 and BS EN ISO 14001:2004 accredited, Abaloid Plastics Ltd have an aggressive plan to achieve TS16949:2002 for early 2009. This position shall support and be instrumental in that plan.
You shall liaise with the Company Directors and provide training advice to employees as directed.

Night Shift Inspector (21.45 - 06.15)
There is now an exciting opportunity to join our Quality Team as a Night Shift Inspector.
Duties to include first off verification, patrol inspection and product validation. Close support of the manufacturing facility is expected.
This is a responsible position, fundamental to the minimisation of scrap and the prevention of defective parts shipping to Customer. The ideal candidate shall have experienced of plastic moulding inspection, however training shall be given to the right candidate.
Machine Operative (13:45 – 22:15 & 21:45 - 06:15)
You are responsible for checking all mouldings that pass through your hands comply with the quality requirements of the job. After familiarising yourself with all the instructions and documentation relating to the job you have been allocated you are required to carry out work which may include finishing, trimming, clipping and packaging of products.
Duties will include:
 Checking the daily production schedule to find out which jobs have been detailed for the shift
Make up a specific supply of cartons and ensure the required ancillary goods as per the job instruction are on-hand
Take over from the operator on the previous shift at the specified time and keep up with the required production rate in quality checking and finishing work. If working on a machine set in a semi automated mode, keep the machine running within the cycle stated on the relevant quality control sheet
Report all moulding defects to a Quality Control Inspector, Setter or Shift Supervisor
Carry out secondary work operations such as assembly, packaging and blocking as directed by the shift supervisor
Carry out general ancillary duties as directed by the Shift Supervisor, Foreman or management
Complete any paperwork and labels and assist in the upkeep of the factory especially around your machine or work station
